In exemplary view on five metropolitan regions - Boston-Washington, Istanbul, Mumbai, Pearl River Delta and São Paulo -
the invited architects Höweler+Yoon, Superpool, CRIT, NODE and UTT present their ideas for strongly growing cities in the future.
The exhibition concept at the Hasköy Spinning Factroy in Istanbul provides an equal volume for each metropolitan region with various heights and footprints correspondend. Each volume is planned as a 'lantern' with translucent and partly mirroring wall surfaces evoking an interaction between the respective exhibition area and the common 'global public space'.
The filigree construction of the lanterns achieve an suspenseful contrast to the rough structure of the exhibition hall. The variation of heights for the lanterns offers various possibilities with regard to the content for the curators. Due to multiple views the vertical separation at the same time provides an overall context for the visitors.
